Historical Highlights

The Pyramids of Giza are the largest and most recognizable pyramid structures in the world. They were built to honor certain Pharaohs of the fourth ruling dynasty of Egypt during a period known as the Old Kingdom. The Old Kingdom was the first great era of Egyptian civilization and lasted from 2686 to 2181 BCE.

Memphis, located near the town of Mid Rahina, 20 km south of Giza, Founded by King Menes and it was the capital of Egypt during the old Kingdom. During the golden age it was considered a regional centre for commerce, trade, and religion.

Sakkara, has the Pyramid of Djoser (or Zoser), or Step Pyramid. Saqqara was the principal necropolis for the ancient city of Memphis where, from Dynasty I onwards, the Egyptian elite built their tombs. The area is best known today as being the site of the first stone pyramid, built for a king of Dynasty III . The pyramid has been attributed to the King Djoser since the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt.

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 250,000 items, plus a massive amount of items in storerooms. On the ground floor are artefacts from the New Kingdom, the time period between 1550 and 1069 BC. These artefacts are generally larger than items created in earlier centuries. On the first floor there are artifacts from the final two dynasties of Egypt.

Two special rooms contain a number of mummies of kings and other royal family members of the New Kingdom.

Salah El Din Citadel and hear how it was built to protect the Ayyubid dynasty from the Crusades. Also housed within the fortifications is the Ottoman Alabaster Mosque (Mosque of Muhammed Ali). Its prominent location and grand visage make it a primary marker on any approach to the city. Learn more about the Islamic culture in Cairo and witness the grandeur of the area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Khan el-Khalili bazaar, the oldest market in Cairo, smells of exotic perfumes and spices, watch local craftsmen at work, learn more and benefit from your local guide’s expertise about how the Egyptians buying and selling.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Dahab Fly To Cairo / Giza Sightseeing Tours

Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Dahab and transfer you to Sharm Airport to fly to Cairo, where you will be met and assisted upon your arrival at Cairo international airport, then you will start your tour by moving to visit Sakkara, Memphis, where the world famous Step pyramid of Djoser, as well as a number of mastabas, Teti Pyramid and Tombs. Then transfer to Memphis, visiting the colossal statue of Ramses II and nearby a still half-buried Hathor Temple,after that moving to explore Giza plateau to visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, the Great Sphinx which dates back to the reign of King Chephren, and then the Valley Temple. During your tour you will have your lunch at a local restaurant. At the end, you will be transferred to check in your hotel, overnight in Cairo.

Day 2: Cairo Sightseeing Tours / Fly Back to Dahab

Our representative will pick you up from the hotel After your breakfast you to visit the Egyptian Museum, which it it has a fabulous collection of antiquities from Egypt Pharaonic period which dates back to some 50 centuries and also includes treasures of King Tutankhamen. After that you will move to visit Cairo Citadel of Saladin and Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Then you will visit the Christian heritage in Coptic Cairo including the most oldest Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt. Then you Continue driving to Islamic Cairo, where you will enjoy Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s oldest bazaar. At the end, you will be transferred to Cairo International Airport to fly back to Sharm El Sheikh, and from there you will be transferred back to your hotel in Dahab.
