Historical Highlights

The Pyramids of Giza are the largest and most recognizable pyramid structures in the world. They were built to honor certain Pharaohs of the fourth ruling dynasty of Egypt during a period known as the Old Kingdom. The Old Kingdom was the first great era of Egyptian civilization and lasted from 2686 to 2181 BCE.

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 250,000 items, plus a massive amount of items in storerooms. On the ground floor are artifacts from the New Kingdom, the time period between 1550 and 1069 BC. These artifacts are generally larger than items created in earlier centuries. On the first floor there are artifacts from the final two dynasties of Egypt.

Two special rooms contain a number of mummies of kings and other royal family members of the New Kingdom.

Salah El Din Citadel and hear how it was built to protect the Ayyubid dynasty from the Crusades. Also housed within the fortifications is the Ottoman Alabaster Mosque (Mosque of Muhammed Ali). Its prominent location and grand visage make it a primary marker on any approach to the city. Learn more about the Islamic culture in Cairo and witness the grandeur of the area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Khan el-Khalili bazaar, the oldest market in Cairo, smells of exotic perfumes and spices, watch local craftsmen at work, learn more and benefit from your local guide’s expertise about how the Egyptians buying and selling.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pyramids Tours

Pyramids Valley representative will pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada for your flight to Cairo. After that our tour guide will accompany you to discover the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. Then visit the Great Sphinx, the head of a pharaoh with a lion’s body, which dates back to the time of Chephren, after that visiting the Valley Temple, which belongs to the Pyramid of Chephren. During your tour you will have your lunch meal at a local restaurant in Cairo. Afterwards you Move to visit the Step Pyramids of Zoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure. It was built in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC) for King Djoser. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo and Overnight.

Day 2: Cairo Tours

Breakfast at hotel, then you will start your excursion to the Egyptian Museum which features artifacts from the Pharaonic period. The museum displays a rare collection of 5000 years of art which are considered the largest most precious collection of Egyptians artifacts in the world. Over 250,000 artifacts are presented, including an exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamen collection of treasures, gold, and jewellery which were enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before its discovery in the 1920s.

You will have your lunch at local restaurant in Cairo. Then move to Salah El Din Citadel, Alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali which was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, a Turkish man who came especially from Istanbul to build this great mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) who ruled Egypt over 45 years. After that transfer to Khan El Khalili, the famous Bazaar in the Middle East. finally, after you finish your tour you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for the flight back to Hurghada.
